Hes·sel·bach \ˈhes-əl-ˌbäḵ\ Franz Kaspar (1759–1816), German surgeon and anatomist. Hesselbach served as professor of anatomy and surgery at Würzburg, Germany. In 1806 he published an anatomical-surgical treatise on the origin of hernias which included a description of the triangle of Hesselbach.
